Happy New Year to all and we hope everyone enjoyed a
safe and Happy Holiday Season!

We would like to extend our sincere thanks those who
were able to make it to our Christmas Open House

see so many new and familiar faces. It was an excellent
turn out and it certainly was confirmation of your loyal
support.

A huge thanks to our suppliers for all their generous door

Services. Congratulations to all the lucky winners!!!

Thank you again to all who helped make 2009 an exciting
and successful year we anticipate more new products

Updated Thursday November 12
Sorry it has been so long since our last update. So many
things have been happening in the store if you haven't
been in lately you must make the time to come and check
out all the delightful new beauties we have in our fabric
collection. I purchased many of these on special and have
passed the savings directly on to you, so many of the new
bolts are already reduced to nearly 1/2 price.
NEW FABRICS

Janome Embroidery Event
Thanks to Linda Pidzemecky, the Janome Educator for
coming out to host the Janome Embroidery Event
Thursday November 5th. For those of  you who are
quilters you missed all the unbelievable features
demonstrated on the Janome 11000 Special Edition.
Those that already have this incredible machine were
introduced to the new upgrade with even more exciting
features for quilters, sewers and embroidery enthusiasts
alike! Christmas is coming so put in your wish list to your
family and ask for the update kit or if you don't have the
11000 what better time to trade-in and trade up? Please
remember our low price guarantee and we will match and
advertised price from our competitors even up to 15 days
after your purchase.

The Urban Quilt
We would also like to welcome two new quilting teachers,
Shannon Hill and her business partner Adrienne both of
The Urban Quilt Company. Adrienne and Shannon
conducted classes on their version of the "modern railed
fence", which was a hit! Their modern, no fuss approach
to quiting makes it a delight for first time quilters taking
their classes. Watch for news classes in 2010 from this
dynamic duo! Check out their website at

Photo Transfer Class by Terri
I want to thank my students Eleanor, Linda and Sheila for
making my first official quilting class a success! It was
great to see that even though two out of three had never
quilted before, everyone went home with a finished
project! Mission accomplished. You were a delight to
teach and it was exciting and interesting to see the same
project turn out  with such unique looks. I look forward to
more classes in 2010.
Updated Friday July 17 - Square in a Square Demo

Wow! What an incredible turn out to our Square in A
Square Demonstration!!! A huge thanks to Gail St. Louis
for providing us with such a detailed and fascinating step-
by-step demo on the Square in A Square technique using
this must have ruler! I think many of us couldn't believe our
eyes when we saw how easy it was to achieve perfect
triangles.

Gail even showed pieces cut and stitched without using
this technique or ruler and you could clearly see the
perfection that plays out before your eyes when using the
SNS technique. It truly makes a difference.

Perfect triangles, perfect diamonds endless combinations
of flying geese, unique and interesting borders...you will
never fear matching points again!!! Gail dazzled us with
her use of  these techniques and showed many samples
based on Jodi Barrows' patterns in her books.

Here is a list of notions and books that Gail featured in her
demo. If you are interested in any of these items you can

Updated Friday June 26

Thursday June 25  we hosted a Scrapbooking by Machine
event with special guest Shannon Hill, Janome Educator.
As usual Shannon  brought a myriad of sewing machine
accessories and demonstrated how to make your hobby
just a little more fun, creative and of course easy with all
these specialty attachments.
Shannon showed how to combine the art of sewing with
the very popular art of scrapbooking using accessory feet
such as...
Beading Feet 2.5mm-4mm & less than 2mm
This set comes with 2 beading feet one for wider beads and one for
narrow. The grooved foot allows a strand of beads to pass freely
under the foot while your zigzag stitch secures the beads to your
project.
Border Guide Foot
Never have mismatched decorative borders again. This foot is used
for lining up rows of decorative stitches so that they are evenly
space and straight.
Ribbon Sewing Guide Foot
Embellish ribbons with decorative stitches and stitch lettering while
attaching ribbon to fabric at the same time. Also a great tool for
making labels.

All of these feet are available to order at SMFO.

Using the Janome Scrapbook Embroidery Collection CD
(filled with tonnes of designs especially for your scrapbooking
projects)
Shannon shared samples of beautiful
embroidered frames, decorative embellishments, ideas
for stitching on fabric, felt, craft paper and wallpaper! We
were in awe of  how wonderful a tool Digitizer Software
can be when creating your own truly unique embroidery
designs with just one click of a mouse!
Now available -  the Digitizer JR Program and the latest
Digitizer MB, the perfect companion and an essential tool
for anyone with an embroidery machine.

For those of you who already have this amazing program
but have not utilized it there are incredible educational
DVD's with step-by-step instructions on how to digtize by
Trevor Conquergood manager of  Stitchitize Design
service.

Thank you to all who attended we hope it inspired you to
try exciting and new creative projects! We appreciate your
support in helping make our events a success.
Many thanks to Shannon for her talented samples and
informative tidbits of create inspiration! You have the
greatest job in the world!

Don't forget we have an excellent seminar/demo planned
for Thursday July 16 with Gail featuring "A Square in A
Square" technique...learn how to create perfect no fuss
triangles.

Registration Fee $10 (non-refundable).
