GARMENT SEWING & FITTING CLASS Total of 5 classes This series of classes will take you through all the principal steps of garment making. You will learn to read, trace and cut a pattern, pin and cut the garment. You will learn proper fitting techniques and how to adjust a pattern for the sizes you need. Everything is hand basted first, fitted and then taken to the machine to sew and finish. At the end of this course you will go home with a finished garment and the knowledge to make many more. Class size 8 students. This course if offered throughout the year. QUILTING BASICS - Log Cabin Pillow This class is for who have no knowledge of quilting techniques or terminology. Techniques learned include measuring and cutting using a quilting ruler and rotary cutter, 1/4" piecing, quilting with a walking foot, spray basting and stitching with decorative thread. SERGER CLASS - Beyond the Basics (Flatlock Table Runner & Rolled Hem Napkins) This class is for those who know how to thread-up and use the basic 3 & 4 thread stitching on the serger. You will learn a flatlock technique utilizing decorative thread to serge up a table runner and learn how to use the rolled hem stitch with decorative thread to achieve a beautiful professional finished edge. PHOTO TRANSFER CRAZY QUILT BLOCK In this class you will learn how to incorporate photos into your quilt blocks. Techniques learn include: Photo transfer and fabric treatment, rotary cutting, measuring, ¼ inch piecing, crazy patch quilting and binding. You will create a 12”x12”quilt block that you can use as a wall hanging, pillow or leave unfinished and continue adding additional blocks to create a larger lap quilt. QUILTED LANDSCAPE /SCENE CHEATER PANEL - Decorative thread Painting and Bead work. Learn how to turn a "cheater panel" into an embellished piece of wall art. In this class Peggy will show you how bead work, decorative thread painting and applique techniques and turn a bland piece of fabric into a creative work of art.
