GARMENT SEWING & FITTING CLASS This series of classes will take you through all the principal steps of garment making. You will learn to read, trace and cut a pattern, pin and cut the garment. You will learn proper fitting techniques and how to adjust a pattern for the sizes you need. Everything is hand basted first, fitted and then taken to the machine to sew and finish. At the end of this 8-week course, you will go home with a finished garment and the knowledge to make many more. Class size 8 students. This course if offered throughout the year. BEGINNER SEWING AND MACHINE TECHNIQUES CLASS This class is for those who want to start sewing but have no idea where or how to begin. This course will give you a thorough step-by-step overview of the operation of your machine. You will learn proper threading, winding of the bobbin, useful information about needles and how to choose the correct size according to your fabric. Learn about the different stitch functions of your machine and experiment with decorative stitches. Come away feeling confident and ready to move on to your next sewing project. MASTER YOUR SERGER This class is highly recommended for those who have been afraid to conquer their serger or for those who would like to learn techniques beyond finishing edges. In this class Hilma will guide you form start to finish all the features and functions of your serger. You will learn about care and maintenance, threading, proper needles, settings for different fabrics and the rolled hem technique. QUILT FINISHING CLASS - SASHING, BORDERS & BINDING This is an excellent class for those who have made blocks and are not certain how to put them together to finish the quilt. In this one day class you will learn how to layer your quilt, add sashing, borders and binding. If your quilt is a wall hanging, you will also learn how to make the hanging sleeve and attach it and finish it off with a personalized quilt label. BEGINNER MACHINE QUILTING & ROTARY CUTTING WORKSHOP This class is for the absolute beginner quilter however knowledge of operation of your sewing machine is required. Hilma will teach you proper rotary cutting and measuring. You will learn all about terms and tools used in quilting. You will cut, piece, quilt and bind a small potholder (trivet). FREE MOTION - THREAD PAINTING Peggy will teach you free motion quilting techniques that will enable you to turn any "cheater panel" into your own unique work of art. 3D FLOWER ROUCHING TECHNIQUE In this class you will learn how to use scraps of fabric to create stunning 3D flowers using a new rouching technique .
